Frequently asked questions

How are eBay selling fees calculated?

eBay selling fees combine a category final value fee — a percentage of the total amount of the sale (price + buyer-paid shipping + sales tax), calculated per item — plus one per-order fee of $0.30 or $0.40 depending on the order total. Optional fees for ads, international sales and below-standard seller performance may add more.

Is sales tax included in the eBay fee base?

Yes. eBay applies the final value fee to the total amount of the sale, which includes the sales tax the buyer pays. The tax itself is passed through to the buyer and is not your revenue.

What is the eBay per-order fee?

A flat fee charged once per order: $0.30 when the order total is $10.00 or less, and $0.40 when it is higher.

Do eBay Store subscribers pay lower fees?

Basic, Premium, Anchor and Enterprise Store subscribers pay reduced final value fee rates in most categories. Starter Store subscribers pay the same rates as sellers without a Store.

Does this calculator include Promoted Listings?

Yes — enter your Promoted Listings General ad rate and the calculator applies it to the total amount of the sale. Promoted Listings Priority (cost per click) is not modelled.
